This is an exceptional quality vintage mens 100% cashmere coat or overcoat made in Italy for British luxury brand Dunhill.  Dunhill was developed after Alfred Dunhill inherited his father’s saddlery business in 1893.  The early focus of the business was on automobile accessories, but eventually became famous for its pipe and tobacco related products. By the 1970s, it had moved into offering a full range of men’s clothing. 

This coat is made in a classic style with peaked lapels, padded shoulders, six button double breasted closure, four button cuffs, flapped pocket at either side and a 19’’ kick vent at the back.  The coat is fully lined in a viscose satin.  The fabric is especially soft and has a beautiful finish - excellent Italian quality.  I believe that it would date either to the late 1980s or early 1990s.

Sizing: There is no size label but this should fit a size 42 or maybe 40 should you wish to wear a jacket underneath - please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of the fabric into account:

Sleeves:  25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  17 3/4”

Chest: 46” around 

Waist: 44” around

Hips:  44” around

Length: 46”, measured flat

Condition:  It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, nibbles, stains or odours - this coat looks to have seen little, if any, use and was well stored and cared for over the years.

Excellent quality and classic styling.....this was originally an expensive coat!
